Genetically identical twins are those twins who are very similar not only in appearance but also genetically. But can three such children be born instead of two? According to experts, this can happen but this case is not one in lakhs but one in crores. Such a feat is being reported from Huddersfield, West Yorks, UK, where Lauzie Davis gave birth to three girls simultaneously.
When the parents found that the faces of all three were similar, they got the children tested for genetics, which revealed that they were genetically identical triplets. The names of these three girls are Willow, Nancy and Mable Davis and doctors say that the incidence of such children being born is one in 200 million i.e. 20 million.
Father Gareth and mother Lauzie conducted this test eight weeks after the birth of these children, which surprised the family and even the doctors. The investigation found that their genes matched and that they were extremely rare, identical sisters. When Lauji’s stomach was scanned in the 12th month of her pregnancy, the couple came to know that Lauji would give birth to triplets.

All three were born on November 10 last year. Willow weighed 4 pounds 8 ounces, Nancy 5 pounds, and Mable 4 pounds 11 ounces. This was a surprise for the parents because usually three children are not genetically identical. Scientists themselves call it a one in 2 crore case.
Still, the surprising thing is that this is the third case in the world in three years. The interesting thing is that in a country like India, the population is increasing rapidly. There are many countries in the world where the population is decreasing. Many countries of Europe are included in this. In Europe, twins and triplets are especially encouraged.
