Lawrence Bishnoi Gang: Delhi Police has arrested an 18-year-old boy from Rohini Sector 23 with a large quantity of weapons. This accused boy was lured to join Lawrence Bishnoi and Kala Rana gang. However, the police ended the criminal career of the accused who came with weapons to prove his loyalty before it could even begin. The accused was contacted through social media and he was shown big dreams.
According to the report of Indian Express, Pradeep Singh is a resident of Pauri Garhwal of Uttarakhand. Pradeep used to see gang members on Instagram reels every day, who were sometimes waving weapons and sometimes shooting someone. He was quite impressed after seeing all this and then started using Signal app to contact them. Police said that to increase the number of their members, gang members are now contacting the youth through social media.
Loyalty is proved by the task
A police officer said, ‘Youth are lured to join gangs and are promised fame, security and money. All of them are given special tasks to prove their loyalty. No information is given until a few hours before the task. During this time, weapons are kept at a particular place. Accused Pradeep also wanted a life full of fame and he felt that he would be able to do so after joining Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Accused Pradeep Singh has two elder sisters and his father runs a grocery shop. He studied till eighth class in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Special CP (Special Cell) HGS Dhaliwal said, ‘After completing eighth standard, he returned to his home and then studied there till 11th standard. In 2022, he left school and came to Gurgaon to live with his friend. At the same time, he started watching the reels of gangster Virendra Pratap alias Kala Rana on Instagram.
How did the accused join the gang and get caught?
HGS Dhaliwal said, ‘Last year in August, the accused started following Kala Rana on Instagram. He messaged her that he wanted to join the gang. In September 2023, on Kala’s request, he started talking to her brother Bhanu on the Signal app. Police said that on December 30, Bhanu assigned Pradeep the task of committing a crime in Delhi along with other associates in the next seven to eight days.
Dhaliwal further said, ‘Bhanu told Pradeep that some more people were going to meet him in Delhi. Target information will be given later. The accused found a consignment of weapons in Sector 24 of Rohini. On January 3, accused Pradeep came to Sector 23 to meet other members, but he was caught with illegal arms and ammunition. The police arrested the accused on the basis of a secret information.
