Microsoft is going to remove this application from Windows after 28 years, work will have to be done with these 2 apps

Microsoft started providing WordPad application in each of its operating systems since 1995. Currently it is also present in Windows 11. However, now the company is going to remove it in the new build of Windows 11. Also, it cannot be reinstalled now. If you are wondering why the company is doing this, then actually very few people use WordPad now. Also, the company has already given its 2 best alternatives to the users.

Use these 2 apps instead of WordPad

The first information about this update was given in the Windows 11 Canary Channel build of Windows Insider. The blog post said that WordPad and People apps will not be installed after a clean install of the new build OS. Also in the future, WordPad will be removed from upgrades. Apart from this, it will not be able to be reinstalled.

However, the good news for WordPad users is that the company has not yet removed it from the stable Windows 11 version. You can still use it. Currently, the changes have been made in the beta version which may also come in the stable version later. If you use WordPad app, now you should use Microsoft Word or Notepad app instead. For text documents you can use Notepad while for .doc files you can use Microsoft Word. You have been given new features in both the apps which will make it easier for you to work.

The company is changing this button in the keyboard also

Microsoft is going to provide Copilot AI search engine button in place of Window button in Windows keyboard. Currently, it has been started with some Windows 11 laptops which will gradually be implemented on everyone. After the new update, you will see a new button on the left or right side of the laptop keyboard and the Windows button will be removed.
