Political War: Film maker Mukesh Modi’s upcoming film ‘Political War’ has been embroiled in controversies even before its release. Actually the film is waiting to get the certificate from CBFC. The director of this film recently came into limelight when he Narendra Modi He had appealed to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to give a certificate to his film because the Indian Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had stopped his certificate due to which the film was not being released cinematically.
According to reports, the director was waiting for certification for three months, but it hit a hurdle when the revising committee rejected the film’s application on December 22, 2023.
‘Political War’ awaits certification from CBFC
Initially the title of the film was kept as ‘2024 Election War’ but after the objections raised by CBFC, Mukesh Modi changed the name of the film to ‘Political War’. Despite submitting the film to the revising committee, the application was rejected without any show cause notice. The CBFC had expressed concern that the faces of the film’s actors ‘resembled Indian politicians’.
Mukesh Modi made this appeal to the Prime Minister
Mukesh Modi, upset over the film not getting a theatrical release, has now appealed to the PM to shed light on the challenges faced by filmmakers and termed the response of CBFC officials as “unsatisfactory”. Mukesh Modi also appealed to the PM to upgrade the system by appointing ‘competent persons’ and preventing unnecessary delays and financial stress on film makers.
He stressed that the purpose of ‘political war’ is to motivate the youth and also appealed to the government to pay attention to this matter. Mukesh Modi further said that unlike his film, the board has no problem in approving ‘violent films’, he says that his film gives a positive message.
Will be released in foreign theaters’Political war’
Troubled by not getting the certificate from CBFC, the director has announced that his film ‘Political War’ will be released in foreign theaters on February 16, after which it will be streamed on OTT platforms. The film maker said that there is no censor board in Hollywood, on the same lines he proposed to abolish the censor board in Bollywood also.
