Traders who set up Gajak shops in Alwar city come from other districts and give the taste of Gajak to the people of Alwar. Although you will find Gajak shops at many places in Alwar city, but the Gajak shop located at Kashiram intersection of Alwar attracts people towards you. Because the shop being set up here has already tasted its taste to the people in other states. After this, for the last 5 years he has been giving taste of different items to the people in Alwar. Children, elders and elders of all age groups can easily eat Gajak.

Omprakash, a businessman who has set up a Gajak shop at Kashiram intersection in Alwar city, said that there is a demand for Gajak during winter time. But as Makar Sankranti approaches, the demand for time gazak doubles. Om Prakash has been doing Gajak business for the last 25 years. Omprakash is originally from Uttar Pradesh. But in winter he goes to different places and trades in Gajak. He has started Gajak business in Alwar for the last 5 years. They got good response, they were tested by people and today their sales are good. The demand for these items is high in the months of December and January, hence they are also called seasonal sweets and winter dry fruits. The price of Gajak is ranging from Rs 200 to Rs 800 per kg.

So much variety is available here
Omprakash told that when we started, we used to get gajak of sesame and jaggery. But as people’s demand increased, we also increased our variety. Today we have sesame gajak, jaggery gajak, chikki, sesame barfi, peanut gajak, rewari, mawa barfi, sesame laddu, til pak, shalimar gajak, roll, teen patti and other gajak made. Omprakash told that Gajak is made in a special way. First of all the jaggery is melted in the machine. After that sesame seeds are added to the jaggery. Sesame seeds are cooked by heating them before mixing them with jaggery. After that laddus are made by mixing sesame seeds and jaggery. In the subsequent process the sesame seeds are crushed. Due to which Gajak is prepared well.

People from different states went crazy about the taste
Omprakash told that he has been setting up a Gajak shop in Alwar for the last 5 years. Earlier, he was setting up his shops in Agra, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad, Delhi, Jhansi and other cities. Our work lasts for about two and a half to three months. That’s why we have to work separately. Our shop is still running there. Our artisans are engaged there. Besides, I am managing the shop in Alwar with my artisans.
