I should cling to my mother in such a way that I would become a child.
As soon as the news of Munawwar Rana’s demise came out of the hospital, his loved ones who had reached their beds to sleep at night lost their sleep. One of them is his Hum Pyala-Hum Niwala, senior journalist and senior poet Hasan Kazmi. As soon as he picked up the phone, he said that there are many memories, after narrating them at least some of them will lighten the burden on the heart.
From transport business to becoming a poet
Hasan Kazmi says that at that time he was going to do a transport business. He was from Rae Bareli, but lived in Kolkata. He got educated there and started transport business. Then he moved to Lucknow, where he got the apprenticeship of Ustad Wali Aasi. It was here that I met him and I don’t even know when we became friends. He had taken a room in Gulmarg Hotel Aminabad and the gathering started. Meanwhile, an unsuccessful attempt to publish a newspaper also started. When there was a business loss, he went away again for a few days.
