Delhi Weather Update: The entire North India is in the grip of cold wave and fog. While people are forced to remain confined to their homes due to the shivering cold, the operation of air flights and trains is being affected due to fog. On Tuesday (January 16), 30 flights were delayed from Delhi Airport due to fog, while 17 flights were cancelled.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), visibility up to 500 meters was recorded in the morning at Palam (VIDP) and Safdarjung airports of the city. News agency ANI quoted the airport authority as saying that around 30 flights departing from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) were delayed and 17 were cancelled.

On Tuesday, visibility was very low not only at Delhi Airport but also at different airports of the country. 0 meters at Varanasi Airport, 0 meters at Agra Airport, 0 meters at Gwalior Airport, 0 meters at Jammu Airport, 0 meters at Pathankot Airport, 0 meters at Chandigarh Airport, 20 meters at Gaya Airport, 50 meters at Prayagraj Airport, 50 meters at Tezpur Airport Visibility was recorded at 50 meters, 100 meters at Agartala Airport, 100 meters at Vijayawada Airport and 100 meters at Bagdogra Airport.

Passengers are facing problems in cold

At the same time, passengers are facing a lot of trouble in the cold due to hours of delay in flights and their cancellation. Many such pictures are going viral on social media, in which people have to sit in the open sky. Two days ago, a passenger upset with the delay of an Indigo flight had attacked the pilot. Earlier on Monday, due to fog, five flights were diverted at Delhi airport, while more than 100 flights were delayed.

Trains are also getting late by hours

Due to fog, not only flights but also the operation of trains is being affected. Due to dense fog, around 30 trains, including Rani Kamlapati-Hazrat Nizamuddin Vande Bharat and Howrah-Delhi Rajdhani Express, were running late on Tuesday, leaving many passengers stranded at New Delhi railway station.
