Hospital Misbehavior Law: Due to flight delay, a passenger inside the plane assaulted the pilot, video of which has also surfaced. After which the passenger was arrested. One such law has been made regarding misbehavior in the hospital, in which there is a provision for strict punishment.
Punishment for misbehavior with doctors
It is generally seen that due to any negligence in the hospital or the patient not getting proper treatment, the family members misbehave with the doctors and staff. Many times cases of assault on doctors also came to light. After which the demand for strict law regarding this was raised, doctors across the country demonstrated on this. Now there is a very strict law in the country for doing this, in which you can be jailed for up to 10 years.
- If you obstruct the functioning of the hospital, you can be jailed for up to 2 years under section 353 of the IPC.
- If you misbehave or abuse a doctor, nurse, ward boy etc. in a hospital, you can be jailed for up to two years under Section 504.
- If you threaten to kill a doctor, nurse or any other staff, you can be sentenced to three to seven years of imprisonment.
- If you assault a doctor or staff, you can be sentenced to three to 10 years in prison.
- For any kind of vandalism or forced entry into the hospital, you can be jailed for up to three years.
There are provisions for action against such behavior in hospitals under different IPC Acts, you will find such information written in all the hospitals. If anyone does such a thing in the hospital, he will be arrested and if the charges are proved, he can face imprisonment for many years.
