The Congress President said in a two-page letter written on Tuesday (January 23), “The Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra is not being given the necessary security in Assam. BJP workers are attacking the Yatra and the Assam Police is providing protection to those doing so.” giving.” According to him, “On January 21, the Yatra was attacked in Sonitpur district. The local SP is the brother of state CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. He did not take any action against the BJP workers who attacked him. BJP workers attacked the social media team of Congress and these people also attacked our general secretary Jairam Ramesh. His car was attacked.”
,Assam Police kept giving protection to the attackers’
According to the Congress President’s letter, “BJP workers attacked Assam Congress Committee President Bhupen Bora and he got injured in this attack. The next day on January 22, BJP workers stopped Rahul Gandhi’s convoy in Nagaon district and came very close to him. Went.” He also said that during all these disturbing incidents, Assam Police continued to protect BJP workers.
Demand for intervention from Home Minister
Mallikarjun Kharge has appealed to the Home Minister to immediately intervene in this matter and ensure security. Kharge said, “The video of the attack and uproar in the Nyay Yatra is in the public forum but neither any case has been registered nor any action has been taken against any of the attackers. We are moving ahead with the Yatra. You ( Shah) to intervene in this matter so that the Chief Minister of Assam and the Director General of Police direct to ensure that such attacks do not take place in future, so that Rahul Gandhi or any other member of Congress does not get hurt.”
In fact, on Tuesday (January 23), Congress’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was stopped from going to Guwahati.
