Is RJD really going to break JDU?
Before understanding its mathematics, it has to be noted that recently, the same allegation was made against the National President of Nitish Kumar’s party Janata Dal United, Rajeev Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, before he was removed from the post. Denying these allegations, he announced legal action against those running news on this line. Lalan Singh was around Nitish amid the political situation that arose on Thursday. Even after becoming the national president of Nitish Kumar, Lalan Singh is continuously staying around him. Meaning, Nitish is accepting that Lalan’s role in breaking JDU was a rumour. But, is the news of break in JDU also a rumour? If there was a rumour, RJD would not have churned so much on Thursday. He would just pacify Nitish Kumar by going back and forth. But this did not happen. So, what kind of khichdi is being cooked in Rabri residence?

There are 243 seats in Bihar Assembly. For majority here, support of 122 MLAs is required. In the Bihar Assembly elections 2020, except JDU, the remaining parties within the grand alliance were the same, which are still with it. Just connected. Still, it is far from a magical figure. RJD had won 75 seats in the elections. Then the party lost the Kudhani seat by-election and gained a new seat in the Bochahan by-election. Meanwhile, the party merged four out of five MLAs of Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM. In this way he has 79 MLAs. Apart from this, 19 Congress MLAs are also together. Including 12 MLAs from CPIML, 2 from CPI, 2 from CPIM, 16 Left MLAs will remain with RJD. Apart from this, it would not be surprising if the only MLA from Owaisi’s party supports RJD from outside in adverse circumstances. In this way 79+19+16+1= 115 MLAs are being completed. This figure is seven points less than the majority. For this, the only option for RJD is to break JDU while avoiding the action of anti-defection law. If Nitish Kumar decides to leave RJD, then JDU will have to be broken in such a way that the membership of the broken MLAs is not canceled on the basis of anti-defection law. For this, 30 out of 45 JDU MLAs will have to be defeated. It is not an easy task to break this, hence after all the struggle, RJD state spokesperson said that the government is stable and will remain so. There is a compulsion to say this because if the conspiracy to break JDU comes out then it will be easy for Nitish Kumar to dissolve the assembly and he will also be able to go with BJP in the elections by calling it fraud.
