The budget session 2024-25 of Delhi government under the leadership of CM Arvind Kejriwal will start from 15th February. Delhi’s budget will be presented for the first time by Finance Minister Atishi in the budget session running from 15 to 20 February. At the same time, this will be the 10th consecutive budget of the Aam Aadmi Party government.
Kejriwal government has also been continuously presenting the outcome budget. Therefore, this time also the outcome budget will be presented by the Finance Minister. The budget of Kejriwal government will focus on education, health, electricity, water, employment and infrastructure. While preparing the budget, the government has taken suggestions from all the stakeholders of Delhi and incorporated their good suggestions in the budget. In the meeting held under the leadership of CM Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Cabinet has given its approval for calling the budget session and now the file has been sent to the LG.
This time the Delhi government is presenting the budget for the financial year 2024-25 in February instead of March. The budget session will begin on February 15 and conclude on February 20. Like the last financial year, this time’s budget is also expected to be huge. This time the budget will be presented by Finance Minister Atishi, which will be the first budget presented by him. During this period, Delhi government will also present its outcome budget. Delhi is the only state in the entire country, where the outcome budget is presented every year by the Kejriwal government. Through the Outcome Budget, the public expenditure of the previous budget is accounted to the people of Delhi with full transparency. In a way, the outcome budget is a report card of the performance of various departments based on the funds allocated in the previous financial year. Approval to call the budget session has been received from the Delhi Cabinet and its file has now been sent to the LG.
