The BPO employee who created a sensation by giving false information about a bomb in the Spice Jet flight coming from Darbhanga to Delhi before the Republic Day, has been arrested from Noida. Due to delay in reaching Darbhanga airport, the accused had made a false call on January 24 that there was a bomb in the plane. He could not board the plane at Darbhanga airport. After seeing the chart of the passengers, the police reached the accused. The accused has been identified as Jai Krishna Kumar Mehta (25), resident of Supaul Bihar.

IGI Airport Police Deputy Commissioner Usha Ranganani said that on January 24, at 6.12 pm, information was received about a bomb in a Spice Jet plane coming from Darbhanga to Delhi. The security manager of the airlines informed the CISF control room that a call had been received at their call center located in Gurugram, Haryana. The caller revealed his name as Kishore.

He told that he heard two people talking that there was a bomb in Spice Jet flight number SG 8496 flying from Darbhanga. Alert regarding Republic Day: Police took the information seriously. Delhi airport was put on high alert and a complete emergency was declared in the airport. After the plane landed at Delhi airport, the bomb alert spread panic among the passengers.

However, all the passengers were safely deboarded from the plane. The aircraft was taken to a different location. Where the security personnel searched the plane thoroughly. No explosives were found on the plane. Later the bomb information was declared fake. A case in this regard was registered at Udyog Vihar Gurugram police station. The police team under the leadership of IGI Airport police station in-charge Yashpal started investigating the case.

In search of the accused, the police team obtained information about the mobile number of the person who made the fake call from Spice Jet. Police put that number on surveillance, but did not get enough clues. After that the police team checked the records of all the passengers who booked tickets in flight number SG 8496. Investigation revealed that a passenger named Jai Kumar had missed his flight after reaching Darbhanga airport late.

Caught through technical surveillance

Based on suspicion, the police kept technical surveillance on him and obtained information about the passenger. The traveler was constantly changing his destination. Technical investigation revealed that the accused is present in Noida. From where the police caught him. During interrogation he accepted his crime. He told that he is currently working in a BPO company after graduating from Magadh University. He told that he had deliberately made the false call to delay the flight as he was late in reaching Darbhanga airport.
