PM Kisan Yojana: Under PM Kisan Yojana, financial assistance is given to farmers every year. The installment of this scheme is released three times a year, which helps the farmers a lot. The first installment of this year may be released in the next few weeks. Crores of farmers across the country are associated with this scheme, although some people are also taking advantage of this scheme, who are not farmers. That means fraud was being done under PM Kisan Yojana. The department traced thousands of people who were taking advantage of this scheme even though they were not eligible.
15 installments of the scheme released
Under PM Kisan Yojana, farmers get financial assistance of Rs 6 thousand every year. Every quarter, the government deposits an installment of Rs 2,000 directly into the accounts of the farmers. At present 15 installments of the scheme have been released. After the release of the last installment, a report came out in which it was said that the Agriculture Department has identified many such accounts which were availing the benefits of the scheme fraudulently. These people have committed fraud worth several crores of rupees in the last few years.
How were the fake farmers caught?
Such farmers were detected through PAN and Aadhar linking and KYC. Some of these were people who file income tax returns, yet they were taking money under the scheme. There were also some people who were taking money through different accounts in the same family. Under PM Kisan Yojana, only one member in a family can avail the benefits of the scheme.

Recovery is also being made by the Agriculture Department from such fake farmers, till now lakhs and crores of rupees have been recovered. Also, the scheme money is not being deposited in such accounts which are doubtful, or whose KYC has not been completed. If someone around you is taking advantage of PM Kisan Yojana by posing as a fake farmer, then alert him, because the government has its eyes on such account holders and if caught, double recovery can be done.
