Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha and National Students Union of India (NSUI) surrounded the Vice Chancellor on Tuesday in connection with the incident of assault that took place on January 24 in Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University. First demonstrated by sitting outside his office. When she started leaving, he sat in front of her car. The police reached the spot and explained to the student leaders.
Student leaders were demanding that action be taken against those involved in the January 24 incident. At the same time, Chief Proctor Prof. of the investigation committee constituted by the university. Manu Pratap Singh should be removed. There has also been a demand to remove the security agency. According to Gaurav Sharma, former president of the University Students Union, the officials and workers of both the student organizations had come to talk to the Vice Chancellor, but when they were not given time to meet, they sat on strike outside his office. When no one came for talks till late, the student leaders entered the Vice Chancellor’s office and sat inside.
When the Vice Chancellor started leaving, the student leaders came out and sat in front of her car. Police of Hariparvat police station reached the spot. He spoke to the Vice Chancellor and asked for one day’s time from the officials of the organization to take appropriate steps in the matter. After this the student leaders withdrew. NSUI District President Satish Sikarwar says that the agitation will continue until concrete action is taken in the matter. Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha’s Anurag Thakur, Rajan Thakur, Manvendra Singh Abhay Yadav and NSUI state secretaries Kuldeep Dixit, Hemant Singh Jadaun, Abhishek Vidyarthi, Rajat Bharti, Raghav Sharma etc. were present.
