A married woman died under suspicious circumstances in Nalanda on Wednesday. The matter is of displaced city under Rajgir police station area. The deceased has been identified as Anita Kumari (22), wife of displaced city resident Heera Chaudhary. The parents are alleging dowry murder. On Thursday, with the help of police, the family reached Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital for postmortem of the body.
Munnarik Chaudhary, father of the deceased, resident of Nekpur village of Chhabilapur police station area, told that his son-in-law Heera Chaudhary always kept demanding money from those people. Even at the time of marriage, all the things were given as per the status. On Wednesday evening he got a call that his daughter had fallen into the well, after which her condition was critical. After receiving the information, when he reached the daughter’s in-laws house, he saw that the dead body was lying in the verandah of the house and the entire family was absconding. The son-in-law had demanded Rs 4,000 a few days ago. When he expressed his inability to give, his daughter was strangled to death and the body was thrown into a well, so that the murder appeared to be suicide.
Anita Kumari was married to Heera Chaudhary two years ago. Anita was two months pregnant, the young man works as a tractor driver. Preparations for Anita’s sister’s wedding were also going on in the house, due to which the deceased’s father had expressed his inability to pay the money to his son-in-law. At the same time, after the incident the in-laws family left the house and absconded.
Rajgir police station in-charge, SHO Shailesh Kumar Jha said that the body has been handed over to the family members after postmortem. Advance action will be taken on receipt of written application. The cause of death will be revealed only after the postmortem report comes. At present, the police has started investigating the entire matter.
