The budget session of Uttar Pradesh Legislature will begin from February 2. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna will present the budget proposal for the financial year 2024-25 in the Assembly on February 5. The budget session of the Legislature will continue till February 12. Decisions regarding the conduct of proceedings were taken in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly on Thursday. This time the proceedings of the House will continue on Saturday also.
Governor Anandiben Patel will present the address in the joint session of the Legislature on Friday at 11 am. The Governor’s address will be read out at 12.30 pm. On February 3, the proceedings of the House will be adjourned after the condolence motion on the demise of BJP MLA Manvendra Singh and SP MLA SP Yadav.

Finance Minister Suresh Khanna will present the budget on February 5 at 11 am. After that the discussion on the motion of thanks on the Governor’s address will begin. The Governor’s address will be discussed on 6th and 7th February. On February 8, there will be a general discussion on the income and expenditure for the financial year 2024-25. On 10th and 12th February, the demands for grants will be considered along with discussion on income and expenditure. There will be voting on the budget proposal. On February 12, at 3 pm, the Uttar Pradesh Appropriation Bill 2024 will be reintroduced in the House and passed.

This time the proceedings of the budget session of the Assembly will be conducted for nine days. Whereas in the years 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, the budget session lasted for ten days each. The budget session will last for eight days in 2022 and ten days in 2023. Thus, the budget session will last one day less than last year.
