Pakistan Ceasefire violation in Jammu Kashmir Border INDIA


Pakistan Ceasefire Violation: Pakistan has again violated the ceasefire agreement. Officials said that Pakistan Rangers violated the ceasefire agreement by firing on a Border Security Force (BSF) post near the International Border in Jammu on Wednesday (February 14, 2024). According to officials, BSF soldiers deployed at the border post in Makwal gave a befitting reply to the firing from across the border. This firing started at 5.50 pm and continued for more than 20 minutes. He said there was no casualty or damage on the Indian side.

There was firing earlier also
Last year, on the intervening night of 8-9 November, a BSF jawan was martyred in firing by Pakistan Rangers in Ramgarh sector of Samba district. This was the first case of death since the two countries agreed to a fresh ceasefire on February 25, 2021. On October 26, two BSF jawans and a woman were injured in cross-border firing in Jammu’s Arnia sector, while on October 17, another BSF jawan was injured in a similar incident.

Security personnel on high alert
Officials said senior officials are monitoring the situation and security personnel deployed along the international border have been asked to remain on high alert. The incident of ceasefire violation has come to light at a time when the Jammu and Kashmir administration on February 20, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Is preparing to visit the Union Territory. During his visit, PM Modi is scheduled to address a public rally in Jammu.
