Jay Shah has expressed hope that Rohit Sharma’s team will definitely be successful in winning the T20 World Cup. Jay Shah has expressed happiness over the performance of Team India in last year’s ODI World Cup. However, Team India had to face defeat at the hands of Australia in the World Cup final.
There was a question about the captain
In an interview given to News 18, Jay Shah confirmed that Rohit Sharma will be the captain of Team India in the T20 World Cup. Jay Shah said before the third Test to be played in Rajkot, “Even though we lost the final match of the 2023 ODI World Cup, Team India has succeeded in winning the hearts of the fans. India won 10 consecutive matches. I have full confidence that under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Team India will be successful in winning this year’s T20 World Cup.”
Till now the question remained regarding who would be the captain of Team India in the T20 World Cup. Team India’s journey ended in the semi-finals of the 2022 T20 World Cup. After this, Hardik Pandya was commanding the team in place of Rohit Sharma. But in January, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli returned to the T20 team after 14 months. Rohit Sharma also scored a century in the last T20 match played against Afghanistan. Since then, it was expected that Rohit Sharma will take charge of Team India in this year’s T20 World Cup.
