Here people are fed a full meal for Rs 10. This public kitchen is in Hathikhana near the old district hospital. It has been named Vimala Jan Rasoi.
This kitchen is being run by retired teacher Chandra Prakash Batham. At present this is a small kitchen. Because right now only 50 people are eating food here every day. The price of the thali is only Rs 10. If a poor person has no money then they provide him free food. The biggest thing is that here you are seated and a decorated plate of food is served.
Tasty and nutritious food
Retired teacher Chandra Prakash Batham, who is running the kitchen, said that he has started this public kitchen in the name of his wife Vimala. His dream was that service to man is service to Narayan. It came to mind why don’t we together open a restaurant where we can feed people a full meal for free. Nutritious and tasty food is prepared in the kitchen with complete cleanliness and quality.

Chandraprakash Batham is running this kitchen at his home. It remains open every day from 6 to 9 pm. There is a good seating arrangement for people in the kitchen. Rice, chickpeas, lentils, salad, papad, roti and seasonal vegetables are served in a plate of Rs 10. The menu keeps changing. The food tastes just like home.
