Earlier, 1760 types of diseases were treated under Ayushman Bharat Yojana, but later 196 diseases and surgeries were separated from it. That means, treatment of these diseases under this scheme has stopped in private hospitals. These included many diseases including cataract, surgical delivery, and malaria.

In this, surgeries like prostate cancer, double valve replacement, coronary artery bypass, pulmonary valve replacement, skull base surgery, tissue expander, pediatric surgery, radiation oncology, neurosurgery, angioplasty with stent can be done. You can also get this surgery done in private hospitals covered under the scheme.
According to statistics, more than 80 percent people get treatment in private hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, although big and all private hospitals are not covered under this scheme. Due to this, common people have to face a lot of problems, especially in cases of emergency. Hospitals many times refuse treatment saying that they are not covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
