This new feature of Google Maps will help users in showing directions directly on their lock screen. Android users can see directions and live ETA directly from the lock screen. With the help of this feature, users can see the complete overview of the route on the lock screen even without pressing the start button.
Whereas, if we talk about iOS users, Google has introduced this feature in Google Maps for them. To use this feature in iOS devices, Live Activities will be used.
Let us tell you that Google had announced this feature in the month of February last year itself, and it was to be launched in June. The company had introduced this feature for a select few people in June and now this feature is being introduced in a wide range i.e. for common users also.
You have to keep in mind that this new feature remains automatically off in Google Maps. To take advantage of this, you will have to turn on this feature manually by following the steps given below. Let us explain to you stepwise how this process will work.
Follow these steps
step 1: Open Google Maps and click on your profile photo in the top right corner.
Step 2: Go to Settings.
Step 3: Scroll down, where you will find Navigation Settings.
Step 4: Now in the options coming there, you have to find the feature of ‘Glanceable Direction While Navigating’ and turn it on using the toggle.
However, remember that before following this process, you will have to update your Android or iOS device. Only after that you will get the option of new feature.
