You will be surprised to know that the first child was born in India through caesarean section many years ago. Who later became a great king. Actually this child was none other than Bindusara, the first son of the great emperor Chandragupta. So let’s know the history behind it.
Chanakya used to give poison in Chandragupta’s food!
Chanakya was Chandragupta Maurya’s guru and also his political advisor. According to Jain literature, Chanakya used to give Chandragupta Maurya a few drops of poison mixed in his food. At that time, a conspiracy was hatched to take over the state through Vishkanyas. Chanakya used to do this so that Chandragupta could bear this poison if any such calamity befell him.
Chandragupta’s wife ate poisoned food
Chandragupta was unaware of this statement of Chanakya. In such a situation, one day he was having food. His first wife Drudhara was pregnant at that time and his first son was going to come into this world in just seven days. In such a situation, Chandragupta, unaware of Chanakya’s talk about poison, fed food from his plate to his wife sitting near him, but Drudhara was not as accustomed to poison as Chandragupta. Therefore, she could not bear the poison and died within a few minutes.
Bundusara emerged from the dead body!
Chanakya was informed about this at the same time. After which Chanakya came at the same time and ripped open Drudhara’s stomach and took out her child, so that the child could be saved. However, by the time Chanakya took the child out, a drop of poison had reached the child’s head. Due to which a permanent dot-like shape was formed on the child’s head. For this reason the newborn baby was named Bindusar. To whom Chandragupta Maurya handed over his throne. Bindusara was considered an efficient ruler.
