Keeping in view the convenience of the passengers, Railways has decided to add additional coaches in trains operating on many routes. This will increase the passenger carrying capacity and more and more people will be able to get confirmed berths.
According to railway officials, train number 12046/12045 Chandigarh-New Delhi-Chandigarh Shatabdi Express will be run by adding air-conditioned chair car from December 23. Similarly, sleeper class coaches will be added in train number 12408/12407 Amritsar-New Jalpaiguri-Amritsar Karmabhoomi Express. Train No. 14624/14623 Firozpur Cantt-Chhindwara- Firozpur Cantt Patalkot Express will be augmented with AC 3 Tier coaches from 22 December.
In addition, AC-3 coach in train number 22401/22402 Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Udhampur-Delhi Sarai Rohilla, AC three coach in train number 22412/22411 Anand Vihar Terminal-Naharlagun-Anand Vihar Terminal Arunachal AC Superfast Express, also AC-3 coach in train number 14224/22411 Anand Vihar Terminal-Naharlagun-Anand Vihar Terminal Arunachal AC Superfast Express. Sleeper-2 coach in 14223 Varanasi-Rajgir-Varanasi Buddhapurnima Express, Sleeper coach in Train No. 12265/12266 Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Jammu Tawi-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Duronto Express, Sleeper coach in Train No. 14235/14236 Varanasi-Bareilly-Varanasi Express, Train No. 12054/12053 Amritsar-Haridwar-Amritsar Janshatabdi Express will be augmented with chair car, and additional sleeper coach will be added in Train No. 14308/14307 Sangam Express.
Apart from this, train number 12444/12443 Anand Vihar Terminal-Haldia-Anand Vihar Terminal Superfast Express will be run from January 3 by adding AC 3 coaches. Train number 14010/14009 Anand Vihar Terminal- Bapudham-Anand Vihar Terminal Champaran Satyagraha Express will have coach attached from January 1. Train No. 14612/14611 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – Ghazipur City – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express will be joined by Van AC 3 Tier Economy coach from 5 January. Train number 12231/12232 Lucknow-Chandigarh-Lucknow Superfast Express will run by adding air-conditioned economy coach from January 2.
