Why will citizens of other countries not get citizenship?
Only minorities of three countries will get benefits under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Which includes minorities from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Apart from this, no minority from any other country will get citizenship under this. The reason behind this is that during the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947, many people of different religions also migrated there after the formation of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. But after going to Pakistan, he was tortured, after which he came to India. After coming to India, these people have never gone to Pakistan again.
Let us tell you that in this also only those who have come to India till 31 December 2014 will get citizenship. According to the rules of CAA, it includes 6 non-Muslim communities Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Jains, Buddhists and Parsis. Apart from this, no minority or citizen of any country will get Indian citizenship. All other people will have to follow Indian rules to get Indian citizenship.
1947 India-Pakistan partition
After the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947, lakhs of people went to Pakistan. People of different religions were involved in this. But in Islamic countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan, people of non-Muslim community were tortured. After which many people of Hindu, Sikh and Christian religions came back to India and never returned again. This is the reason why the Indian government is giving citizenship only to the minorities of these three countries.
