Board Exam Copy Checking Process: Nowadays the season of board examinations is going on. While the exams of many boards have ended, many are still going on. The work of checking copies of Bihar Board has ended and that of UP Board has started. In such a situation, many times the question arises in the mind that how is this work done, which teachers check the copies, do they not take classes? This teacher takes classes
The teachers who check copies of board exams are from schools and they also teach. After the exam is over, their duty is to check the copies and apart from the regular work of the school, they also do the work of checking the copies. Usually, the work of checking copies starts at the end of school holidays. In such a situation, the teachers who are selected for this work go to the center and check the cops and the rest remain on leave.
Experienced teachers are selected
Experienced and qualified teachers are selected for this work. They have to go to the centers decided by the board and check the copies. For this they are paid something per copy. This rule is different for every board. Earlier in UP Board, teachers with less than two years of experience were not allowed to check copies, but last year this rule also changed. In this matter, the rules of all the boards are different but generally only PGT, TGT experienced teachers are selected for this.
How does the process proceed?
Apart from teachers, Additional Examiner and Head Examiner are appointed in every centre, under whose supervision the work of copy checking is done. The first page of the copy containing the name and roll number is removed and a secret code is given. Due to this, teachers do not know whose copy they are checking. Usually, copies of children from other schools get checked.
Marking scheme is decided
What happens in CBSE board is that first a specimen copy is given which is checked by three teachers and marks are given. Then the head examiner looks at all three and decides what kind of marks to give. A general guideline is decided and the work of copy checking starts accordingly. At most places there are instructions only for linear marking.
