Under the Rubber Production Incentive Scheme (RPIIS), it has been announced to increase the base price of rubber from Rs 170 to Rs 180. Kerala Finance Minister KN Balagopal gave this information while presenting the budget. According to the report of New Indian Express, the aim of this scheme is to give rubber farmers the difference between the actual price in the market and the guaranteed rate of Rs 180. Rubber growing farmers can demand money from rubber production committees after submitting the bills. These bills will also be uploaded later on the government website by the regional officers of the Rubber Board.

More than 1.5 lakh farmers will benefit

The state government has also given Rs 24.48 crore to clear the dues under RPIIS. This decision of the government will benefit about 1.5 lakh small and marginal rubber farmers.
