Bihar News: A youth died in a road accident in Nalanda on Thursday. The matter is near Sabait High School under Nalanda police station area. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Sabir Ahmed, 40, son of late Salim, resident of Sabait village.

A youth died in a road accident in the district on Thursday. After the incident the truck driver fled from the spot. The angry villagers took the driver of the truck hostage and started creating ruckus. After receiving information about the road accident, Rajgir DSP, SDO, Silav Inspector and Nalanda Police Station President reached the spot with their team and pacified the angry people.
The driver of the truck was freed from the grip of the angry people. The angry people were creating ruckus demanding compensation of Rs 5 lakh and action against the truck driver. Regarding the incident, the family members of the deceased said that the truck driver deliberately crushed Sabir Ahmed on the pretext of backing up the car. Due to which he died on the spot. After the death there was chaos among the family members.

Nalanda Police Station President Nishi Kumar said that a compensation of Rs 20 thousand has been given to the dependents of the deceased under family benefit by the Silav Block Development Officer. The body has been taken into custody and sent to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Advance action will be taken upon receipt of the application. The driver of the truck has been kept in police custody. And the police has started investigating the entire matter. The truck driver was unloading cement when the incident happened.
