CBSE New Education Policy: Recently the Central Board of Secondary has changed the examination pattern for class 12th students. CBSE has changed the method of examination by increasing the number of aptitude based questions and reducing the percentage of general questions. This decision of CBSE will affect crores of students. Changes in 12th exam pattern
Central Board of Secondary Education has made changes in the pattern of class 12 board exam. This change has been made under the new National Education Policy 2000. This change will be implemented in the next session from the year 2024-2025. Under this new policy, competency questions will now be 50 percent in the 12th board paper.
Under the new National Education Policy, now objective type as well as case study based questions will be asked. The analysis ability of the students will be tested with this new pattern. The exam pattern that is being followed at present. In that, 40 percent questions were related to competency. Under this change, knowledge based questions have now been reduced from 40 percent to 30 percent.
Why was this change made?
Talking about this decision, Joseph Emmanuel, Director of Secondary Education, Central Board, said that ‘The Board is focusing on creating an educational ecosystem whose objective is to focus on learning instead of rote learning and to develop the creative thinking abilities of the students. Can be done, so that they can deal with the challenges of the 21st century. Talking further, he said that there will be no change in the examination pattern of class 9th-10th.
