Apple Major Milestone iPhone Production in India Company makes 1 in 7 Phone here Know Details


Apple Major Milestone: iPhone production is continuously increasing in India. According to a report, the company has assembled iPhones worth $14 billion in the financial year 2024. Apple is manufacturing about 14 percent of its flagship devices in India. This means that the company is making 1 iPhone out of every 7 phones in India. Taiwanese giant tech companies Foxconn and Pegatron have played a big role in increasing Apple’s production in India.

According to Bloomberg report, Foxconn has assembled about 67 percent of the iPhones made in India, while Pegatron has assembled 17 percent of it. Apart from this, the remaining share belongs to Wistron Corp plant in Karnataka, which went to Tata Group in 2023.

Pegatron may sell its India unit to Tata Group

According to media reports, Taiwanese giant Pegatron is going to sell its India unit to Tata Group. Talks are also going on between these two regarding this. It is being told that Tata Group may have a 65 percent stake in the Indian unit of Pegatron. This could be a joint venture, in which 65 percent stake would be with Tata and the rest with Pegatron. Under this deal, Tata Group will operate the plant in Chennai through its Tata Electronics unit.

Earlier last year, Tata had acquired Wistron’s plant in Kolar, Karnataka, to increase its capacity to manufacture high-end electronic items and accessories. An investment of Rs 5 thousand crore was made on Hosur unit. Tata had bought this plant from Wistron for $123 million. The target is to ship iPhones worth $1.4 billion in this production facility.
