This village situated in Rajasthan is about 17 kilometers away from Jaisalmer district. This village is quite mysterious in itself. For a time, more than 5000 people used to live in this village. But now there is silence far and wide in this village. Once upon a time there used to be a lot of human activity in this village. People used to have very beautiful houses. But now neither do people live here. And those that once used to be houses have now been turned into ruins.
As soon as people enter this village, they feel a strange kind of negative energy. The story of this village is that more than 5000 people once lived here. The village was settled by Paliwal Brahmins. Whose livelihood depended on farming. But then one time something happened in the village that the entire village became empty overnight.
Why did the people of the village disappear?
Salim Singh was the Diwan of the state during the time of Paliwal Brahmins in Kuldhara village. Which was extremely debauched and cruel. People were very upset with his actions. One day Salim Singh’s eyes fell on the daughter of the village head. Fell on the chief’s daughter. He proposed to Pradhan to marry his daughter to him. Pradhan and the rest of the villagers were well aware of Salim Singh’s personality. Salim Singh gave some time to Pradhan to take the decision.
When he refused, he threatened Pradhan that he would come and take away his daughter himself. After this, the village head held a meeting with the rest of the village people and everyone collectively decided to leave the village. And then overnight thousands of people left the village with their belongings. After which this village could never be settled again.

It is said that while vacating the village, the Brahmins had cursed the village that it would never be inhabited. And something similar happened, with time the villages around Kuldhara got settled again. But Kuldhara could not settle down again. Even today no one goes here. So he is not allowed to enter this village after evening.
