Rice – 1 cup basmati rice
Green peas – half cup
Onion – 1 finely chopped
Ginger paste – half teaspoon
Garlic paste – half teaspoon
Green chili – 1 finely chopped
Pure ghee – half teaspoon
Cinnamon – 1 piece
Cloves-2-3
Big cardamom – 1
Oil – 1/2 tbsp
water – as needed
salt – to taste

How to make Matar Pulao
First of all, clean the rice thoroughly with water. Now keep it soaked in water for 10 minutes. After that drain the water from the rice. Put ghee in a pan on the gas and heat it. Put a piece of clove, cinnamon, big cardamom in it. When roasted, add green chilies and onions and fry for 1 minute. When it turns golden brown, add ginger and garlic paste to it. Now add peas to it and fry for a minute. Put the cleaned rice in the pan and stir well. Add salt to it and add water as needed.

When it starts boiling well, put the lid on low flame. Let it cook for about 8-10 minutes. Remove the lid and check with your hands whether the rice is cooked or not. If it is cooked and the water has dried, then turn off the flame. Do not remove the cover immediately. Leave it like this for 5 minutes. You can garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it with paneer curry or dal fry etc. in lunch or dinner.
