Stolen Phone: In today’s era, every small and big work is done through phone only. You have all your UPI apps and net banking apps on the phone itself, through which you can do everything related to banking. Apart from this, all other types of information and photos and videos are also saved in the phone. In such a situation, when the phone gets stolen, people become very worried. More than the theft of the precious phone, they are more worried about the data and other things present in it. Many people just get e-FIR done and then get a new SIM and use another mobile. But even after this, the thief is still using your phone, which you can stop from a government website.
Government has created a website
A website has been created by the government, in which you can give information about phone theft. This prevents your phone from being misused. This means that the person who has stolen the phone will not be able to use your phone, it is completely blocked. The name of this government portal is Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR). This is a portal through which you can get your phone back.
The phone will be blocked like this
After the phone is stolen, the first thing you have to do is lodge an FIR. After this go to the government website ceir.gov.in. Here you will get three options. After this you will have to message your 15 digit IMEI number to 14422. After doing this you will see the option of blacklisting. From here you can block your phone. The IMEI number will be found written on the box of your phone.
Now the most interesting thing is that once you file a complaint on CEIR, it can be traced even if you install another SIM on the phone. That means the phone can be tracked. Apart from this, now many such apps are also coming, by keeping which in the phone, you can trace the phone if it is stolen.
