India is known all over the world for its special culture. But these days India is going through a health crisis. Recently new figures show that people of India are becoming victims of diseases like cancer. The number of cancer patients in India is so high that it is gradually moving towards becoming a cancer capital.
Cancer and other noncommunicable diseases
‘Indian Multi National Healthcare’ Group Apollo Hospital has released a report. In which it is said that the number of cancer and other non-communicable diseases (non-infectious diseases) is increasing rapidly in the entire country. Due to which India is walking on the path of cancer capital. This report is drawing everyone’s attention towards those epidemics for which Indians do not feel the need to get treated.
10 lakh cases every year
Every year more than 10 lakh new cases of cancer are reported in India. But the number of cancer cases is still high in the countries of Denmark, Ireland and Belgium. But it is highest in America. In America, there are 300 cases per 100,000 people, whereas in India this figure is 100.
There have been ‘changes in epidemiology’. Due to which the situation can change in many ways. According to this report, one out of every three people in India is suffering from pre-diabetes and two are suffering from pre-hypertension. At the same time, one out of ten people is suffering from depression. According to the report, he is suffering from cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and brain related diseases. The number of these diseases has increased so much that it has reached a serious level.
Due to which the number of cancer is increasing in India
The biggest and main reason is due to high level of pollution, bad lifestyle and eating habits. About 40 percent of cancer cases have been reported in India. Consuming tobacco significantly increases the risk of lung, mouth and throat cancer. Whereas due to poor diet and less activity, 10 percent people become victims of this disease.
