How to cultivate sandalwood?

Hot climate is suitable for cultivating red sandalwood. Loamy soil is suitable for this. The pH value of soil is 4.5 to 6.5.
The best time to plant sandalwood plants is from May to June. You can easily get a sandalwood plant from any nursery for between Rs 100 to Rs 150. After properly plowing the field, it is important to make the soil loose. After that the soil has to be leveled. After planting the plants, fill them with fertilizer. It is also important to make arrangements for drainage of water near the plants. Plants will get damaged due to excess water. ,

Sandalwood cultivation is time consuming. The older its trees become. They become equally valuable. A sandalwood plant which was planted for Rs 100. After about 15 years it becomes worth Rs 2 lakh. That means, if you plant 100 sandalwood trees then you will get a profit of around Rs 2 crore in 15 years.
