Cervical Cancer: Cervical cancer is a dangerous disease occurring in women. In India alone, about 9 women are dying every hour due to this cancer. The reason for this is its not being identified on time and delay in treatment. However, now a major discovery has been made in this direction. AIIMS doctors have developed a technology through which the Cervical Cancer Test which used to cost Rs 6,000 can be done for just Rs 100. Using Magnetic Nanoparticle Quantum Dots Coupled Immuno-Nano Fluorescence Assay (MNQDCINFA) technology, doctors of (AIIMS) have created a new technique and kit for cervical cancer test, which is better than Pap smear and similar to immunofluorescence-histopathology (biopsy). Will be 100% effective.

Testing will be done without big labs

It is being claimed about this kit prepared in AIIMS that it will test cervical cancer in just Rs 100, which currently costs up to Rs 6,000. The biggest thing is that there will be no need to go to any big lab for this. Currently, Pap smear test is done in most hospitals for cervical cancer screening. Its report comes in about two weeks. If the report is found positive, immunofluorescence-histopathology test is done to confirm cervical cancer. This means it takes a lot of time to prepare the report.

How effective is the new cervical cancer kit?

Doctors of Anatomy and Gynecology Department have jointly prepared this kit to make an easy technique for cervical cancer detection in the Electron Microscope Facility of AIIMS. Dr. Subhash Chandra Yadav of the Anatomy Department said that this kit has also been tested on 600 positive samples and 400 negative samples found positive in the Pap smear test. It was also compared with the histopathology test report, in which 100 percent accuracy was found. Two types of solutions have been used in this technology.

How the new cervical cancer kit works

In this technique, the sample is crushed with small gold magnets of 25 nano meters and mixed in the solution. The E-75 proteins responsible for cancer are bound to the solution, then UV light is released. Now if the color of this sample changes to orange, it means the patient is in the grip of cancer. If the color of the sample does not change, it means it is not cancer. The sample for this test will be taken just like a Pap smear. ANMs in any area of the country will also be able to test it. If the test report is positive, there will be no need for a separate histopathology test.
