A man who won big in the National Lottery got a scare when the ticket machine made a strange noise. At that time he felt that he would have nothing left. The 51-year-old man, from Trowbridge, Wiltshire, bought the ticket on May 18, 2023, but did not check it until weeks later. He said he was sitting in his van drinking coffee after completing a day of plastering when he noticed the ticket behind the balcony. It was close to a shop so he thought he’d go in and get the tickets checked, in the hope that something might happen!
When the store assistant put it in the machine to check, the machine made a really strange sound, something he had never heard before. The assistant then told her that she had to call the number on the ticket because it was a winning ticket but she could not pay him.

John thought that perhaps he had won only ten thousand rupees, and when he realized that he had won much more than that, he had tears in his eyes.
