Before starting her career in acting, at the age of 17, something happened to the actress that she did not leave her house for a week.

This actor is none other than Upasana Singh, who played the role of Veena in the 1997 film ‘Judai’. In this film of Anil Kapoor and Sridevi, Upasana played the role of a deaf and dumb girl and this character brought her a lot of fame. The actress also worked in films like ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ and ‘Aitraaz’. Later, Upasana became known for the role of ‘Bua’ in Kapil Sharma’s show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’.
Upasana was a victim of casting couch
It was not easy for Upasana Singh to make her mark in the world of acting. Recently, while talking to E-Times, Upasana Singh shared her casting couch experience. He told, ‘I had also left films. I will not take the name but a director from South had signed me for a film with Anil Kapoor.
The director had said this at the age of 17
Upasana further said- ‘I had announced this among all my relatives. The director called me to a hotel for a ‘sitting’. I was only 17 years old at that time and was very innocent. I told him that I would come the next day as I had no way of going to the hotel after listening to the story. He told me he would send a car to pick me up. He said that you did not understand the meaning of ‘sitting’? One has to do it to get in the film line.
Upasana was imprisoned in the house for 7 days
Upasana tells that after this she first shouted at the director and then started crying. He told the director that he was of his father’s age and how could he even think like this about him. Upasana said- ‘I remember I was walking on the footpath in Bandra, crying and wondering what people would think, to whom I had told that I was going to become Anil Kapoor’s heroine. This made me crazy. I did not leave my house for seven days. My mother gave me courage and said that I had done the right thing.
