In Bhagalpur, six wedding guests traveling in a Scorpio died on the spot after the highway overturned on the marriage procession vehicle. Three people have been seriously injured in this incident, who have been taken to Mayaganj Hospital, Bhagalpur with the help of local people. The incident took place near Amapur of Ghogha located on Kahalgaon main road NH-80. The incident occurred around 11.30 pm. Two children are also among the dead.
There could have been more deaths
Regarding the incident, local people say that the wedding procession was going from Bhagalpur towards Kahalgaon in three Scorpios. Just then, a ballast laden highway was coming from the opposite direction (from Kahalgaon) near Amapur of Ghogha police station area. Road construction work was going on at the incident site. Because of this the road was about three to four feet higher on one side. During this time, while passing the highway, it went out of control and overturned on the wedding vehicle. At that time, two other Scorpios were running behind that Scorpio. As soon as the accident happened, both the Scorpios somehow escaped by moving back and forth, otherwise the death toll could have increased further. When the noise was heard, people gathered nearby and somehow all of them were taken out of the debris and taken to the hospital.
