Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Monday targeted the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government. He said while the tenure of the Congress-led UPA at the Center could be called ‘Jungle Raj’, the BJP-led NDA could be called ‘Demon Raj’.

Speaking to reporters in Patna, Tejashwi said that the UPA government had launched many initiatives like National Food Security Act, Right to Education and MNREGA. He said, during (RJD supremo) Lalu Prasad, the Railways achieved additional revenue and trains like Garib Rath were started. Those traveling in general class started traveling in AC coaches. If BJP leaders call it Jungle Raj, then PM Modi’s rule should be called Raksha Raj.

This reaction from Tejashwi has come when Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in an election rally in Samastipur that if the opposition alliance comes to power, there will be jungle rule in the country and Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) Will end OBC) reservation. Rejecting his allegation, the RJD leader said that these things are far from the reality. The Home Minister should talk about the issues related to the people. The people decided to give a befitting reply to the BJP led NDA and they will face a humiliating defeat in the elections.

He said, we had increased the reservation of deprived castes in Bihar from 50 percent to 65 percent. We had requested the Center to include this law in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution, but it was not done. Why are the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Chief Minister maintaining silence on this issue?

On PM Modi’s road show to be held in Patna on May 12, Tejashwi said, the performance of the previous Grand Alliance government in Bihar and the promises made in the RJD manifesto have forced the Prime Minister to hold the road show.

What did Shah say in the election rally

Addressing an election rally, Shah accused Congress and RJD of betraying Dalits and backward classes by opposing OBC reservation. He said that leaders like Lalu Yadav have always been against giving reservation to deprived classes. Now OBCs are sitting in the lap of Congress which has looted the reservation. Shah alleged that if the alliance of opposition parties comes to power, there will be ‘jungle raj’ in the country.

He also claimed that the cash recovery in Jharkhand proved that the leaders of the opposition alliance were corrupt. Shah said, earlier Rs 350 crore was recovered from the house of a Congress MP. He raised questions on the opposition parties not having any candidate for the post of PM and said, this is not about running a grocery shop. If a situation like Corona epidemic arises, can these leaders save the country? Will they be able to save the country from terrorists? He said that people in the opposition party can only spread lies.
