Dressed in a white T-shirt, he introduces himself as Popplewell, 51, from Kibbutz Nirim in southern Israel. Popwell was abducted from her home along with her mother, Hannah Perry, during a Hamas attack on October 7, who were released during a week-long ceasefire in November. Three days ago, another video was released in which hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin was shown alive. These videos come amid increasing domestic pressure on the Israeli government to ensure the release of the remaining hostages. “Every sign of life from the hostages held by Hamas is another cry of crisis for the Israeli government and its leaders,” the group of families said in a statement Saturday.

On October 7, when Hamas operatives attacked southern Israel, about 250 people were kidnapped from the Gaza Strip. Israeli officials say 128 of them are still held captive in the Palestinian territories, of whom 36 are dead.
