According to the report of India Today, this demonstration is being done due to rising inflation, heavy taxes and shortage of electricity. It is reported that a policeman has also died in the clash between the public and security personnel.
For this, the people of PoK had planned a massive protest on Saturday, May 11, but a day before, additional police forces were called in Muzaffarabad and started detaining people, after which people’s anger flared up. . Apart from these, reports of clashes came from Dadial, Mirpur and other parts of PoK including Samhani, Rawalkot.
News of arrest of more than 70 people
According to reports, Pakistani forces arrested more than 70 people in Mirpur district of PoK on Friday. After this the angry crowd took to the streets. In protest against the arrest, the general public threw stones at the security forces and clashes broke out at many places. According to the report, Section 144 has been imposed in the area.
In fact, Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee had called a general strike on Friday to put pressure on the Pakistan government. This also included the transporters’ strike. The committee has accused the Islamabad government of not fulfilling the agreements. During the strike in Muzaffarabad, the police had to resort to releasing tear gas shells and even firing bullets in the air.
Pakistan stuck in debt trap
Actually, Pakistanis are struggling with back-breaking inflation. The International Monetary Fund had imposed strict conditions while approving a loan of $3 billion, due to which the situation has worsened. Problems have increased due to increase in electricity rates and people in Pakistan have been forced to take to the streets.
