The Punjab and Haryana High Court had also given its verdict on this, in which it was said that it is the job of the state government to provide compensation to the people who were attacked by stray animals. It is the responsibility of the government to do this. That means, if someone dies due to the attack of such a dog, then the family can file a case against the government or the municipal corporation.
How correct is it to feed dogs daily?
Now the question is whether those people are also responsible for this who feed the stray dogs in the society, due to which they start living there. You can definitely take the names of such people in the court, due to which many dogs camp in the society. Whenever they get a chance, they pounce on a child or a bike rider. The Supreme Court had also said that if stray dogs bite, then the people who feed them daily can be held responsible. The Delhi High Court had expressed concern over such matters and had said that it is not wrong to feed stray dogs, but by doing so, those dogs remain there and in the meantime can attack anyone.
