How many times should one bathe in a day?

Many people take bath twice a day for the sake of more hygiene. Some people take bath repeatedly in summer. But from health point of view, one should not take bath more than once a day. Ayurveda experts say that there are some special natural oils in our body which help in keeping the skin smooth and soft. If we bathe more than once, these natural oils come out from the body and the skin starts becoming dry.

How many times can you take a bath in summer?

If you take bath frequently then your skin will start itching and the skin will become dry and start cracking. However, in summers when the skin sweats more, you can take bath twice a day without soap. If you take bath even five times a week in winter, it will be enough for your health. Since the skin becomes dry in winter, you can manage by taking bath five days a week.

Hot or cold, what kind of water is right to take bath with?

If seen, people take bath with cold or hot water according to the climate. It feels good to take bath with hot water in winter and cold water in summer. Experts say that the temperature of bathing water should neither be too hot nor too cold. The skin becomes sensitive after bathing with hot water in winter. Therefore, bathing with very hot water is not advised.

Cold water is suitable for bathing even in summer, but too cold water can harm your health. Therefore, it is better to take bath with lukewarm water or water kept at room temperature. This does not have much effect on the body temperature. Bathing with lukewarm water increases the blood circulation of the body and there is no fear of cold and cough.
