A youth died after being hit by an air conditioned (AC) bus outside the Roadways Workshop on Sarsaul-Baraula bypass road in Bannadevi area in Aligarh. After the accident, angry family members blocked the road. The glass was broken by pelting stones on the bus. There was an uproar for a long time demanding a job and compensation for the deceased’s wife. The officers who reached the spot along with police forces from several police stations pacified the angry family members by assuring them of action. A case has been filed against the bus driver in the police station on behalf of the wife.
28 year old Sonu, resident of street number two of Nagla Kalar of Bannadevi area, used to work as a cobbler in the area. Sonu had crossed the road at around 12 noon and went to drink tea at the shop near the Roadways Workshop on Baraula Bypass. Then the AC bus of Aligarh depot coming out of the workshop hit Sonu. Sonu died on the spot. The driver left the bus and ran away.
On hearing the news of the accident, Sonu’s family members and villagers came. Angry people blocked Baraula-Sarsaul road. Then the body was taken and kept outside the gate of the workshop. People were adamant on the demand of giving job and compensation to the wife of the deceased. Seeing the uproar, the roadways personnel closed the gate of the workshop from inside. Police from Bannadevi, Gandhipark and Lodha police station reached the news. CO Bannadevi Rakesh Sisodia and other officers explained to the angry people. After a lot of effort, people agreed to the assurance of action after about one and a half hour. police have performed postmortem on the corpse. CO Rakesh Sisodia said that a case has been filed against the driver of the roadways bus on behalf of his wife Pooja Devi.
Sonu was the only earning person in the house
Sonu has two children. The elder son is three years old and the younger daughter is about nine months old. Whose father’s shadow was lifted from his head. After the accident, wife Pooja Devi is in bad condition and crying. The responsibility of the house was on Sonu only. Father has died a long time ago.
