On the information of an informer, the Kotwali police have arrested two accused in the case of attack on the police team that had gone to stop illegal mining in Nagla Mani village of Sikandrarau. Police have also recovered pistols and cartridges from the possession of the accused. Police also raided the houses of many other accused, but found their houses empty.

On the morning of 21 May, Pora outpost in-charge Brajesh Pandey received information that illegal mining of soil was taking place in village Nagla Mani of the area. When the accountant and police team reached the spot on information, the miners ran away leaving their tractor-trolley and belt machine on the spot. The police team was coming to the police station with this tractor trolley and belt machine in its possession. Then in village Nagla Mani, more than 50 people surrounded the police team and opened fire with the intention of killing them, due to which the police personnel narrowly escaped. The police team had barely saved their lives from the mob. The accused took away the tractor trolley and belt machine from the police team.

The police had registered a case against 25 named and 30 unknown people including women. After the case was registered, the police started arresting the accused. On May 22, based on information from an informer, the police raided the school in village Jimispur on Etah Road and arrested the named accused Avnish Kumar son of Veeresh and Sureshchandra son of Mahendra Singh, residents of village Nagla Mani. The police recovered two pistols and two cartridges from the possession of the arrested accused and presented them in the court. From there, both were sent to jail. The police is also actively searching for other accused.
