Lok Sabha Elections During the sixth phase of polling in West Bengal’s Jhargram, BJP candidate Pranat Tudu’s team was attacked heavily in which his security personnel were injured. The party blamed the ruling party Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers for this.
The BJP alleged that Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers attacked the convoy when Tudu was visiting a polling booth in Garbeta area of the state’s West Midnapore district after complaints were received about voters being intimidated there.

Video of the incident surfaced
A video of the incident shows the mob pelting stones and chasing the BJP candidate, his security and several media teams. His security personnel reacted quickly and rescued him safely from the spot after coming under attack. The BJP leader’s car was also vandalised in the incident.
The round of allegations and counter-allegations continues between BJP and TMC
Tudu is pitted against Kalipada Soren of the Trinamool Congress and Sonamni of the CPI(M) from this Lok Sabha seat. Meanwhile, rejecting the BJP’s allegations, the TMC alleged that Tudu’s security personnel assaulted and beat up a woman. The TMC said that the incident took place when the woman was waiting in a queue to cast her vote outside a polling booth in Garbeta.
