Politics has intensified over the Vivek Vihar fire incident. The Delhi government has accused the officials of not following instructions in this matter. Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said on social media that till 9:00 pm, no response or update has been received from the Secretary (Health) or any of his subordinate officers of the Health Department. However, I called him several times and sent many messages, but did not get any response. He has also been given instructions through email, but the email acknowledgement has also not been received.
He said that in such an emergency, where the lives of many newborns are at stake, this negligence is unforgivable. In any other state of India, such negligence would have led to strict disciplinary action against the concerned officials. He alleged that such officials are constantly protected by the central government. The incident happened last night, but I came to know about it this morning, that too through media flashes. He said that despite all the challenges, we will ensure that the culprits are prosecuted.
