Hina Khan is in the news these days with ‘Shinda Shinda No Papa’. The actress recently gave her opinion on working during periods. Hina shared a story on social media and wrote – ‘We can say ‘no’ during periods’, she wrote, ‘I wish I had the option of not shooting for the first two days of my periods, it would have been so good. These days I don’t have much strength in my body. But I have to shoot outside. In almost 40 degrees… period pain, mood swings, dehydration, heat, discomfort, low BP, shooting in such a situation, in which one has to run a lot in the sun… it is not easy.’
Alia Bhatt also expressed her opinion on period leave. She said that working while enduring pain during periods is troublesome. Can’t women be allowed to take leave or work from home during periods? Alia said that men and women are equal but not the same.
Taapsee Pannu also expressed her opinion on period leave. She said, “I wish our periods were not a taboo subject. I wish we did not have to carry pads in the open and taking leave during periods was a normal thing.”
At the same time, Neha Dhupia had said regarding period leave that today’s girls are very strong and they do not need such leave.
Smriti Irani also spoke on period leave. She said that periods are not a hindrance and for this women do not need a special policy of paid leave.
Kangana Ranaut also supported this statement of Smriti Irani. She shared the post and wrote, “Working women is a myth, there has not been a single non-working woman in India. From farming to household chores and raising children, women have been working and their family or community or nation has never come in the way of their commitment. Unless there is a specific medical condition, women do not need paid leave during periods. Please understand that these are periods, not any disease or handicap.”
Sunny Leone is also not in favour of leave during periods. Sunny said that if five leaves are taken every month then there will be 60 leaves in a year and this will harm the work. She said that if there is no problem with your health in working during periods then there is no need for leave.
These days Daljeet Kaur is in the news for her second marriage breaking down. Daljeet also talked about period leaves and said that one should get leave to rest. Daljeet shared her experience and said that during periods she feels very bad and has to go through severe pain.
TV actress Srijita De had said that she should get at least one day off during her periods.
