To prevent ragging, a district level anti-ragging committee was formed in Aligarh. Student organizations and student leaders protested when media and student representatives were not given a place in this committee. The District Magistrate, who is the chairman of the committee, has agreed to nominate student organizations and media representatives in the committee.

UGC Secretary Manish R Joshi had asked to form a district level anti-ragging committee to prevent ragging in schools, colleges and degree colleges. The committee was to have the District Magistrate as its chairman and the head of the university, college or institute, SSP, ADM Secretary, representative of local media, representative of NGOs actively involved in youth development programs and representative of student organizations.

On May 27, Aligarh’s district level anti-ragging committee was formed. In this, the District Magistrate was made the Chairman, SSP, head of university, college or institute and representative of NGO actively involved in youth development programs, DO PRD, District Sports Officer, Regional Higher Education Officer, District School Inspector, Additional District City Magistrate were nominated as Member Secretary. Representatives of student organizations and local media were not included in it. Amar Ujala published the news on this with priority.

On this, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Mahanagar gave a memorandum to ACM First Vineet Kumar in the name of District Magistrate on Tuesday. In which a demand was made to form a new committee. During this, Mahanagar Co-Secretary Prashant Singh, Ashutosh Yadav, Chirag Bhardwaj, Harendra Singh, Jatin Arya, Abhimanyu Singh etc. were present.
