Jitendra Kumar was born on 1 September 1990 in Khairthal, Rajasthan. He studied civil engineering from IIT Kharagpur. Jitendra Kumar liked acting from the beginning but his career was towards civil engineering. He acted in Ramleela in his childhood and also used to mimic Amitabh Bachchan and Nana Patekar but he was also very good in studies.

Jitendra Kumar passed the JEE exam which is the most difficult. He took admission in IIT Kharagpur by passing JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. His rank is not clearly known but according to IIT Kharagpur Civil Engineering Cut Off 2012, his rank in JEE Advanced can be between 200 to 2500. Jitendra Kumar’s father was also a B.Tech engineer and he also wanted to become like his father but there was always an actor in him.

Along with studying at IIT Kharagpur, Jitendra Kumar also used to play. During that time, he met Vishwapati Sarkar, the executive creative director of The Viral Fever (TVF). At that time, he was Jitendra Kumar’s senior but Vishwapati Sarkar asked him to join TVF.
After passing out from Kharagpur, Jitendra remained unemployed for 3 months. Later, he got a job in a Japanese construction company based in Bangalore. But then Vishwajit Sarkar called him for TVF and Jitendra went to meet him. There he did his first show ‘Munna Jazbaati’ web series and became a hit.
